Gunfight rages in Tral Village | KNO

Tral, April 07 (KNO) : Gunfight raged between militants and government forces in Mandora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday morning. Reports reaching KNO that a joint team of army’s 42 RR and SOG Awantipora cordoned off Mandora area after having credible input about the presence of some militants in the area. As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter. A senior Police official confirmed that some exchange of firing has taken place between militants and government forces in the area. Initial exchange of fire took place and at present search operation is on in the area, he said Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area. (KNO)
